How We Started
Child Paths was developed when founder Ciaran Flynn realised the monumental role his daughter’s Early Years service was playing in her life.
As a Father, Ciaran wanted to help with her development but didn’t know how or what to do. So he set out to build a product that would encourage parental involvement, bridge the communication gap between ECE settings and parents and alleviate the increasing administrative workload for educators.
How We Got Here
We consulted with owners, managers and educators to understand their administrative and curricular planning needs.
We worked closely with the Crann Support Group and the National Childhood Network to integrate the Irish curricular frameworks, Aistear and Siolta, into Child Paths.
We developed a unique early intervention tool with the Adult and Child Therapy Centre called Milestones allowing educators to track a child’s progress and automatically generate support plans for children and parents.
Child Paths was developed to give parents a greater insight into their child’s learning and development. We believe in strengthening the valuable work being done in settings by empowering parents with the requisite knowledge they need to support their children at home.
What Keeps Us Going
We have worked with further education colleges, including the Cork College of FET, the largest further education college in Ireland and Laois Offaly Education and Training Board to to prepare upcoming educators to use technology in the early childhood sector. Most recently, we have worked closely with Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board to embed our software into their modules as a digital learning tool in the Early Learning and Care course.
At Child Paths, we believe development thrives in a supportive environment. Helping parents, educators and children drives us to deliver the best product possible – from early years and primary through secondary education.
